George W. Bush: State of the Union Address, January 20, 2004


This year's address contained less optimism (wishful thinking) and far more Optimal realism (Optimal Thinking). Below are some excerpts:

Analysis of State of the Union Address by George W. Bush THE PRESIDENT: Our greatest responsibility is the active defense of the American people.

We must give our military personnel every tool they need to defend us.

(To U.S. Military) we will give you the resources you need to fight and win the war on terror.

America has always been willing to do what it takes to do what is right.

America will never seek a permission slip to defend the security of our country.

Home ownership is the highest ever.

Eliminate wasteful and frivolous medical law suits.

Abstinence for young people is the only certain way to avoid sexually transmitted diseases.

We will do our best to keep you (10 year old child) abd the rest of America safe and free.

The cause we serve is right because it is the cause of all mankind.



The killers will fail and the Iraqi people will live in freedom.

Because you acted to stimulate our economy with tax relief, this economy is strong and growing stronger.



(To congress) Acting as good stewards of tax payers dollars

To help children make right choices, we need good examples.

The path ahead should lead to a better life.
