Los Angeles, July 23, 2003 - "Kobe Bryant is lying" asserts behavioral scientist,
Rosalene Glickman, Ph.D., author of Optimal Thinking: How to Be Your Best Self (Wiley, 2002).
In her book, Dr. Glickman explains, "Approximately 85 percent of our communication is
nonverbal. When verbal and non-verbal messages contradict each other, it is best to
rely on the nonverbal message. Certain gestures signal distinct messages. For example,
tapping the fingers signals impatience, and when the hand is spread across the mouth in a
specific manner while talking, a person is lying."
"Laker basketball star Kobe Bryant lied about his devotion and love for his wife while pleading
innocent on national television. He exhibited a cluster of nonverbal signals that contradicte
his verbal messages. He would fail a polygraph test!" says Dr. Glickman.
Dr. Glickman is available for media interviews to explain Kobe Bryant's nonverbal gestures
and how they relate to the charges against him.
